ਸ੍ਰਾਵਗ ਸੁੱਧ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਿਧਾਨ ਕੇ ਦੇਖਿ ਫਿਰਿਓ ਘਰ ਜੋਗ ਜਤੀ ਕੇ ॥
I have wandered and seen the homes of the pure-hearted, the congregations of the Siddhas, the Yogis, and the celibates.

ਸੂਰ ਸੁਰਾਰਦਨ ਸੁਧ ਸੁਧਾਦਿਕ ਸੰਤ ਸਮੂਹ ਅਨੇਕ ਮਤੀ ਕੇ ॥
I have seen the brave demons and gods, the pure drinkers of nectar, and the multitudes of saints of various sects.
ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਦੇਸ ਕੋ ਦੇਖਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਮਤ ਕੋਊ ਨ ਦੇਖੀਅਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤੀ ਕੇ ॥
I have watched all the countries of the world, but I have not seen any true followers of the Lord of Life.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕੀ ਭਾਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਹੂ ਤੇ ਏਕ ਰਤੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਏਕ ਰਤੀ ਕੇ ॥੧॥
Without the Loving Grace of the Lord God, they are of no account at all. ||1||
ਮਾਤੇ ਮਤੰਗ ਜਰੇ ਜਰ ਸੰਗ ਅਨੂਪ ਉਤੰਗ ਸੁਰੰਗ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
Intoxicated elephants, studded with gold, incomparably huge and painted in bright colors.
ਕੋਟ ਤੁਰੰਗ ਕੁਰੰਗ ਸੇ ਕੂਦਤ ਪਉਨ ਕੇ ਗਉਨ ਕਉ ਜਾਤ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
Millions of horses, bounding like deer, moving faster than the wind.
ਭਾਰੀ ਭੁਜਾਨ ਕੇ ਭੂਪ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਿਆਵਤ ਸੀਸ ਨ ਜਾਤ ਬਿਚਾਰੇ ॥
Kings with strong arms, bowing their heads in countless ways.
ਏਤੇ ਭਏ ਤੁ ਕਹਾ ਭਏ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਅੰਤ ਕਉ ਨਾਂਗੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਂਇ ਪਧਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
So what if such powerful emperors existed? In the end, they departed barefoot. ||2||
ਜੀਤ ਫਿਰੈ ਸਭ ਦੇਸ ਦਿਸਾਨ ਕੋ ਬਾਜਤ ਢੋਲ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ਨਗਾਰੇ ॥
They conquer all countries and directions, with the beating of drums, mridangs, and nagaras.
ਗੁੰਜਤ ਗੂੜ ਗਜਾਨ ਕੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹਿੰਸਤ ਹੈਂ ਹਯਰਾਜ ਹਜਾਰੇ ॥
The trumpeting of beautiful, massive elephants resounds, and thousands of royal horses neigh.
ਭੂਤ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਭਵਾਨ ਕੇ ਭੂਪਤ ਕਉਨੁ ਗਨੈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਤ ਬਿਚਾਰੇ ॥
Who can count the kings of the past, present, and future? They cannot be comprehended.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਪਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਭਜੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਅੰਤ ਕਉ ਅੰਤ ਕੇ ਧਾਮ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
Without remembering the Lord of Wealth, the Supreme Lord God, in the end, they leave for their final abode. ||3||
ਤੀਰਥ ਨਾਨ ਦਇਆ ਦਮ ਦਾਨ ਸੁ ਸੰਜਮ ਨੇਮ ਅਨੇਕ ਬਿਸੇਖੈ ॥
Bathing at sacred shrines, acts of compassion, control of passions, charity, strict austerities, and various special rituals.
ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਕਤੇਬ ਕੁਰਾਨ ਜਮੀਨ ਜਮਾਨ ਸਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਪੇਖੈ ॥
Searching through the Vedas, the Puranas, the Bible, the Quran, across the earth, the sky, and in all directions.
ਪਉਨ ਅਹਾਰ ਜਤੀ ਜਤ ਧਾਰ ਸਬੈ ਸੁ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਹਜਾਰ ਕ ਦੇਖੈ ॥
Subsisting only on air, practicing strict celibacy, and contemplating thousands of philosophies.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਭਜੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਏਕ ਰਤੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਏਕ ਨ ਲੇਖੈ ॥੪॥
Without remembering the Supreme Lord God, O King, none of this is of any account at all. ||4||
ਸੁਧ ਸਿਪਾਹ ਦੁਰੰਤ ਦੁਬਾਹ ਸੁ ਸਾਜ ਸਨਾਹ ਦੁਰਜਾਨ ਦਲੈਂਗੇ ॥
Pure warriors, invincible and mighty, wearing armor, who can crush their enemies.
ਭਾਰੀ ਗੁਮਾਨ ਭਰੇ ਮਨ ਮੈਂ ਕਰ ਪਰਬਤ ਪੰਖ ਹਲੇ ਨ ਹਲੈਂਗੇ ॥
Filled with great pride in their minds, they would remain unshaken, even if mountains took flight.
ਤੋਰਿ ਅਰੀਨ ਮਰੋਰਿ ਮਵਾਸਨ ਮਾਤੇ ਮਤੰਗਨ ਮਾਨ ਮਲੈਂਗੇ ॥
They would destroy their enemies, crush rebels, and shatter the pride of intoxicated elephants.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਪਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਜਹਾਨ ਨਿਦਾਨ ਚਲੈਂਗੇ ॥੫॥
But without the Grace of the Lord of Wealth, the Supreme Lord God, in the end, they too will leave this world. ||5||
ਬੀਰ ਅਪਾਰ ਬਡੇ ਬਰਿਆਰ ਅਬਿਚਾਰਹਿ ਸਾਰ ਕੀ ਧਾਰ ਭਛੱਯਾ ॥
Limitless warriors, great and powerful, who unhesitatingly face the edge of the sword.
ਤੋਰਤ ਦੇਸ ਮਲਿੰਦ ਮਵਾਸਨ ਮਾਤੇ ਗਜਾਨ ਕੇ ਮਾਨ ਮਲੱਯਾ ॥
Who conquer countries, crush rebels, and shatter the pride of intoxicated elephants.
ਗਾੜ੍ਹੇ ਗੜ੍ਹਾਨ ਕੋ ਤੋੜਨਹਾਰ ਸੁ ਬਾਤਨ ਹੀਂ ਚਕ ਚਾਰ ਲਵੱਯਾ ॥
Who break strong forts and conquer the four directions with mere words.
ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਸਿਰਨਾਇਕ ਜਾਚਕ ਅਨੇਕ ਸੁ ਏਕ ਦਿਵੱਯਾ ॥੬॥
The Supreme Lord is the Commander of all; the beggars are many, but the Giver is One. ||6||
ਦਾਨਵ ਦੇਵ ਫਨਿੰਦ ਨਿਸਾਚਰ ਭੂਤ ਭਵਿਖ ਭਵਾਨ ਜਪੈਂਗੇ ॥
Demons, gods, serpent kings, and ghosts of the past, present, and future will meditate on Him.
ਜੀਵ ਜਿਤੇ ਜਲ ਮੈ ਥਲ ਮੈ ਪਲ ਹੀ ਪਲ ਮੈ ਸਭ ਥਾਪ ਥਪੈਂਗੇ ॥
All beings in the water and on land were created by Him in an instant.
ਪੁੰਨ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪਨ ਬਾਢ ਜੈਤ ਧੁਨ ਪਾਪਨ ਕੇ ਬਹੁ ਪੁੰਜ ਖਪੈਂਗੇ ॥
The glory of virtue increases, and the sounds of victory resound, while heaps of sins are destroyed.
ਸਾਧ ਸਮੂਹ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਫਿਰੈਂ ਜਗ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਭੈ ਅਵਲੋਕ ਚਪੈਂਗੇ ॥੭॥
Multitudes of the holy wander happily in the world, while all enemies tremble seeing them. ||7||
ਮਾਨਵ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਗਜਿੰਦ੍ਰ ਨਰਾਧਪ ਜੌਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਕ ਕੋ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੈਂਗੇ ॥
Men, kings, lords of elephants, and rulers of the three worlds.
ਕੋਟਿ ਇਸਨਾਨ ਗਜਾਦਿਕ ਦਾਨ ਅਨੇਕ ਸੁਅੰਬਰ ਸਾਜ ਬਰੈਂਗੇ ॥
Who take millions of baths, give elephants in charity, and organize numerous marriages.
ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮਹੇਸਰ ਬਿਸਨ ਸਚੀਪਤਿ ਅੰਤ ਫਸੇ ਜਮ ਫਾਸ ਪਰੈਂਗੇ ॥
Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu, and Indra will ultimately fall into the noose of death.
ਜੇ ਨਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਪਤਿ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ ਹੈਂ ਪਗ ਤੇ ਨਰ ਫੇਰ ਨ ਦੇਹ ਧਰੈਂਗੇ ॥੮॥
But those men who grasp the feet of the Supreme Lord will not take on physical bodies again. ||8||
ਕਹਾ ਭਯੋ ਜੋ ਦੋਊ ਲੋਚਨ ਮੂੰਦ ਕੈ ਬੈਠਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਬਕ ਧਿਆਨ ਲਗਾਇਓ ॥
What is the use of sitting with both eyes closed, meditating like a crane?
ਨ੍ਹਾਤ ਫਿਰਿਓ ਲੀਏ ਸਾਤ ਸਮੁਦ੍ਰਨਿ ਲੋਕ ਗਯੋ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਗਵਾਇਓ ॥
You bathe in the seven seas, losing this world and the next.
ਬਾਸ ਕੀਓ ਬਿਖਿਆਨ ਸੋ ਬੈਠ ਕੈ ਐਸੇ ਹੀ ਐਸੇ ਸੁ ਬੈਸ ਬਿਤਾਇਓ ॥
You dwell in the midst of sins, wasting your life in such pursuits.
ਸਾਚੁ ਕਹੌਂ ਸੁਨ ਲੇਹੁ ਸਭੈ ਜਿਨ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੀਓ ਤਿਨ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਇਓ ॥੯॥
I speak the Truth, listen everyone: Only those who love God will realize Him. ||9||
ਕਾਹੂ ਲੈ ਪਾਹਨ ਪੂਜ ਧਰਯੋ ਸਿਰ ਕਾਹੂ ਲੈ ਲਿੰਗੁ ਗਰੇ ਲਟਕਾਇਓ ॥
Some worship stones and place them on their heads; some hang lingams around their necks.
ਕਾਹੂ ਲਖਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਅਵਾਚੀ ਦਿਸਾ ਮਹਿ ਕਾਹੂ ਪਛਾਹ ਕੋ ਸੀਸੁ ਨਿਵਾਇਓ ॥
Some look for God in the South; some bow their heads to the West.
ਕੋਊ ਬੁਤਾਨ ਕੋ ਪੂਜਤ ਹੈ ਪਸੁ ਕੋਊ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਾਨ ਕੋ ਪੂਜਨ ਧਾਇਓ ॥
Some fools worship idols, while others run to worship the dead.
ਕੂਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਉਰਝਿਓ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਗ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕੋ ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ॥੧੦॥
The whole world is entangled in false rituals; no one has found the secret of the Supreme Lord. ||10||
